Academy Technique Classes

Held mid-September through mid-May with an annual recital and summer session, our academy leveled courses fuse the past and present traditions of dance together in a creative and supportive environment to nurture individual growth and a joy of movement.

Ballet I-VI

We offer a series of graded ballet classes, beginning at age 7 through teens. Older students are welcome. These classes are designed to build a strong foundation in ballet technique, musicality, and artistry. Class placement is decided by an in-class evaluation and students advance in level after an evaluation by the instructor.

Class length: 60 minutes to 1.25 hours, depending on level. Level III and up attend at least two classes per week.

Performance Company

For our students who wish to shine on stage we offer a performance company. It’s available for Ballet III – VI levels. Our performance company puts on several performances throughout the Lake Country area each year, offering students a real-world dance experience.

Pointe & Pre-Pointe

These classes are available to students who are at least 11 years of age, have had at least 5 years of dance, and are evaluated and approved by the instructor. Pre-pointe classes focus on building strength, flexibility, and technique in the feet, ankles and core while maintaining proper alignment, which is necessary to safely transition to dancing on pointe shoes. Once deemed ready by the instructor, students will advance to Pointe, where they will begin dancing on the tips of their toes with their specialized shoes.

Class length: 1 hour. Class is held once per week, in addition to the twice per week Ballet III – V level classes. Pointe students are required to continue their Ballet technique and pointe training throughout the summer session.

Jazz & Tap I/II

For students age 7 and up who are also enrolled in Ballet I/II. Many different dance styles and techniques are explored including classic jazz, funk, lyrical and tap.

Class length: 45 minutes.
